Randy Hsia I served for four years as an active duty Marine. During that time, I had the opportunity to deploy to Asia and the Middle East all while developing some very strong bonds with my fellow Marines and sailors that endure to this day. After leaving active duty, I attended law school and began my legal career in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. I currently work for the Department of Justice. I joined Action Tank to be a part of a team that is dedicated to making a difference in our community - and to forge new and lasting relationships with my fellow veterans.

Linda Fontanilla I found Action Tank mainly for the community it provides--I wanted to stay connected to other veterans, especially those who still make serving a part of their lives. I was a critical care nurse in the Army and served one tour in Afghanistan. After ending my time in service, I enrolled in and am currently pursuing my DNP in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of Pennsylvania.

Andres Galarza Our group does a tremendous amount of good and important work in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. However, I can't tell you how much our monthly meetings and being around this group of people boosts my own spirits. I was an officer in the army for just under five years. I really enjoyed most of my time in uniform. I guess the highlight would probably be deploying to Afghanistan as the leader of a three-gun artillery platoon. It was a privilege to serve. I left the service to attend a master's program here in Philadelphia. My wife and I live in Center City with our two cats. We absolutely love the city. I'm in the process of finishing my degree and work in the financial services industry as an analyst.

Matt Miclette Through Action Tank, I have been able to learn about and help to address major social problems in my community, while meeting other incredible, service-driven individuals. In the Army I was a nurse that cared for service members injured in Iraq & Afghanistan at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and for those experiencing combat-related psychological distress at Darnall Army Medical Center. Today, I am a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) student at Johns Hopkins University.
